Krista is the Executive Director of Better Block, a nonprofit that educates, equips, and empowers communities and their leaders to reshape and reactivate built environments to promote the growth of healthy and vibrant neighborhoods. She began her career at D Magazine where she served as Managing Editor and Executive Director of a literacy nonprofit. She then served as Chief of Staff of the Coalition for a New Dallas, an advocacy organization aimed at reconnecting neighborhoods. Krista helped launch Dallas Innovates in 2015, and while covering the city became intrigued by the built environment. She joined the Better Block Foundation in 2016 to make the world a little better by showing communities how wonderful walkable/bikeable districts are. So far, she has worked with 75 cities around the world.
